The Financial Inclusion Event within the Arab Week

Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, represented by the Samawa Technical Institute, participated in the financial inclusion event held as part of the Arab Financial Inclusion Week. The event was organized by the Association of Iraqi Private Banks in cooperation with the Central Bank of Iraq, taking place at the Al-Baraka Mall in Samawa.

The event was attended by a number of official figures and representatives of financial institutions, including Iraqi Parliament Member Professor Muhammad Arbod, alongside representatives from the Central Bank and participating entities, all in support of efforts to enhance financial inclusion and spread banking culture.

The institute’s delegation, headed by Dr. Safa Al-Taif, Director of the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit, delivered a brief presentation on the key features of the institute’s technical and academic strategy, which focused on

1. Introducing modern specializations in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity
2. Developing curricula to keep pace with digital transformation in the financial sector
3. Strengthening partnerships with the banking sector and supporting research in financial technology (FinTech)
4. Organizing training programs to raise financial and digital awareness
5. Creating an advanced educational environment that supports innovation and modern specializations

This participation reaffirms the university’s role in supporting digital trends and enhancing integration between academic education and labor market requirements, thereby contributing to building a more inclusive digital financial system.
