Vision
Since its establishment, the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division at Samawa Technical Institute strives to achieve the highest levels of performance and excellence. It leverages the institute’s capabilities and human/material resources efficiently, with active participation from all affiliates, to elevate the educational process and meet community needs and labor market requirements, in line with national and international quality standards.
Mission
The Division aims to achieve sustainability in institutional and academic performance quality across institute departments, contributing to the continuous improvement of education, research activities, and community services according to national and international standards. It supports the institute’s mission and strategic goals by pursuing institutional accreditation and qualifying departments for academic accreditation.
Key Responsibilities
Detailed Duties
- Prepare & follow up QA strategic plan
- Organize Quality Council meetings & follow up recommendations
- Annual performance evaluation (academic & administrative staff)
- Implement institutional & programmatic accreditation standards
- Complete national classification files (institutional & programmatic)
- Prepare self-assessment reports & improvement plans (Bologna process)
- Annual achievement portfolio for all departments
- Develop surveys for educational quality (students & faculty)
- Monitor laboratory accreditation & safety standards
- Spread quality culture via workshops and continuous training

Organizational Structure
Institutional Performance Evaluation Unit
- Complete performance evaluation files for leadership, faculty & staff
- Conduct workshops on electronic performance evaluation system
- Submit final reports for approval & notify ministry
- Update performance evaluation grade databases
- Manage division’s official email & electronic archiving of correspondence
Quality Assurance Unit
- Oversee implementation of quality & accreditation standards (institutional & programmatic)
- Promote quality culture & follow up strategic plans
- Analyze performance indicators & prepare self-assessment reports
- Coordinate with departments to apply national accreditation standards
Laboratory Accreditation Unit
- Prepare laboratories for accreditation by the Iraqi Accreditation Body
- Follow up eco-friendly incinerator project & equipment calibration
- Transform research labs into productive & applied laboratories
- Establish specialized maintenance center for lab equipment
- Qualify labs according to Iraqi and international standards
