Tasks & Responsibilities
The Scientific Division is a key supporter of the educational process, dedicated to enriching education with scientifically advanced staff through academic promotions, postgraduate studies, specialized courses, and community engagement programs. It ensures the continuous development of teaching staff and coordinates training, employment, and research excellence.
Vision
Vision: To become the fundamental pillar of the educational and scientific process by motivating faculty members, facilitating their research endeavors, encouraging participation in specialized courses, and easing enrollment in postgraduate studies to enrich education and establish modern teaching foundations for nation-building.
Mission
Mission: Support scientific departments by providing academic plans and programs, coordinating with all departments to facilitate faculty development, ensuring a systematic approach to performance improvement, and enabling departments to keep pace with global scientific advancements.
Subordinate Units
Student Training Unit
- Coordination with the Curriculum & Summer Training Division at the university presidency
- Follow-up on student trainees, distribution of academic and technical supervisors
- Regular meetings with subcommittees to discuss summer training plans
- Preparing the annual summer training report and submitting it to the university
- Coordination with institutes in other governorates for external training slots and issuing administrative orders
- Setting annual scientific visit plans and monitoring their implementation
Student & Graduate Employment Unit
- Preparing electronic and paper application forms, guiding students through the process
- Registering student data and specializations, developing CV writing skills
- Training students on essential English terminology for job interviews
- Psychological and cognitive preparation for job interviews
- Coordination with the university’s Employment Division to nominate high‑achieving graduates
Continuing Education Unit
- Developing annual continuing education plans and distributing them to departments
- Obtaining university approval and issuing attendance orders for participants
- Monitoring program execution, scheduling midterm and final exams
- Identifying awareness centers, scheduling visits, and preparing final reports
- Following up on workload and academic release, issuing release orders and teaching schedules
- Managing external lecturers and issuing their assignment orders
Student Follow-up Unit
- Preparing scholarship programs for postgraduate studies (inside and outside Iraq)
- Monitoring academic promotions and teaching qualification exams
- Setting research plans for departments, tracking publications and impact factors
- Organizing conferences, scientific symposia, workshops, and sending invitations
- Updating curricula, authoring books, and managing printing support
- Building a database for published research and quarterly activities
University Statistics Unit
- Daily status reports for midterm and final exams, submitted to the university
- Preparing annual and semester statistical reports and following up with the university
- Preparing admission plan forms for both morning and evening studies
- Updating variables in the faculty, technical, and administrative staff database according to administrative orders
- Providing comprehensive data to support decision‑making
Research Leadership & Conferences
Research Activities
Preparing departmental research plans, monitoring additions/cancellations, reporting planned/executed research, supporting authorship and peer review, printing books, and tracking innovations.
Conferences & Symposia
Supervising scientific conferences, workshops, and exhibitions; coordinating the scientific plan across all departments; issuing invitations; organizing awareness committees and human rights reports.
Curriculum Development
Managing the establishment of new departments, enhancing teaching expertise, updating curricula, and integrating theory with practice to meet global standards.
