The Department of Electrical Technologies, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the Technical Institute of Samawah, part of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, organized a training course titled “Solar Energy Calculations”, delivered by Engineer Mustafa Qasim Al-Tuwaini.

The course included an explanation of the fundamentals of selecting solar energy system components, including panels, batteries, and inverters, as well as determining the optimal tilt angle of panels based on geographical location using the Global Solar Atlas. It also discussed the advantages of solar energy systems compared to national grid electricity and generators, highlighting their long-term economic feasibility.

The course aims to enhance awareness of solar energy use, enable participants to accurately calculate their energy needs and estimate the total system cost, and shed light on the role of renewable energy in environmental preservation and supporting sustainable development goals.

The course targets all segments of society due to the wide applicability of solar energy systems in homes and various facilities.
