Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of the Middle Euphrates Technical University, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Sabah Mohammed Al-Mutawgi, Dean of the Technical Institute of Samawah, the Awareness and Introduction Committee for the inputs and outputs of the (College of Applied Sports Science Technologies) at the Middle Euphrates Technical University has commenced its awareness program in a number of vocational preparatory schools in Muthanna Governorate. The program aims to introduce the newly established college, its specializations, and its future prospects.

The visits included Al-Muthanna Preparatory School for Sports Sciences, Al-Hussain Preparatory School for Computer and Information Technology, and Al-Muthanna Commercial Preparatory School. The committee distributed introductory brochures and provided a comprehensive explanation to the students about the college’s objectives, its scientific branches, and the study and career opportunities it offers to its graduates.

The college comprises three specialized branches

  1. Department of Sports Science Technologies.
  2. Department of Applied Sports Games Technologies.
  3. Department of Health Rehabilitation and Physical Fitness Technologies.

The establishment of this college is expected to contribute to supplying the labor market and the sectors of education, higher education, youth, and sports with specialized technical competencies. These graduates will possess modern skills in the fields of sports sciences, advanced sports training, physical rehabilitation and sports health, as well as the management of sports facilities and stadiums using the latest methods and technologies, thereby meeting development requirements and labor market needs.

The establishment of the college comes as a realization of the Middle Euphrates Technical University’s commitment to expanding its academic programs and introducing qualitative specializations that keep pace with scientific advancements, meet the aspirations of students, and contribute to preparing qualified cadres capable of serving society, starting from the academic year 2026–2027.
