The Nursing Department was established in 1994, where the faculty and deanship work to provide all elements of progress in the field of nursing education to keep pace with scientific and technical progress in medicine, in addition to encouraging students to reach an advanced level in order to assume their responsibilities in scientific research and study in various nursing specialties.
Evening studies were introduced in the department in the year (2019-2020).
Preparing a nursing cadre educated in the arts and skills of nursing to provide integrated nursing services for prevention, treatment and rehabilitation to keep pace with the increasing need of society for medical care. This is done through clear and distinguished scientific and technical programs to improve the health of the individual, family and society.
1-Receiving the patient and nursing documentation of all necessary nursing procedures in the patient’s drum.
2-Assisting the doctor during the examination of the patient.
3-Distributing and giving the medications prescribed by the doctor.
4-Preparing the patient psychologically and physically before the surgery and taking care of the patient after the surgery, including washing the patient.
5-Assisting the doctor in giving and withdrawing fluids and transfusing blood.
6-Assisting the patient who is unable to eat if he is unable to do so.
7-Washing and sterilizing the tools used to care for the patient.
8-Providing nursing care in kidney dialysis units, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, respiratory resuscitation, and cardiovascular surgery units.
9-Health education and his family.
10-Vaccination campaigns in health centers.
11-Implementing health education and health programs.
12-Providing health services and mother and child care in health centers.
13-Home visits to provide services to mother and child and immunization against diseases.
14-Participating in school visits to learn about the procedures followed in providing health services.
Message:
This laboratory is one of the important basic laboratories for students of the Department of Nursing Technology, as it helps the student to master the subject of microbiology from a practical scientific perspective, helping him to identify pathogens from different microorganisms such as bacteria, parasites, fungi, viruses, etc.
Vision:
Help the student to learn about practical microbiology and benefit from it in nursing work.
Introducing students to the most important recent developments in microbiology in terms of modern techniques in diagnosing and determining the treatment of diseases caused by these microorganisms.
Giving the student a clear idea about the most important modern techniques in the field of sterilization and disinfection and using the correct scientific method in this field to reduce and prevent diseases caused by microorganisms in the halls and departments of health institutions.
Objectives:
Building scientific foundations for the student regarding microbiology in its various branches.
To provide students with a clear idea about the most important microorganisms (bacteria, parasites, etc.) that cause diseases, and to identify their life cycles, methods of diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and control.
Mission
Preparing students with competence and skill in various nursing procedures in providing nursing services based on scientific and practical foundations.
Vision
Teaching students basic nursing skills integrated academically and professionally in various nursing procedures.
General Objective:
Is to provide a suitable place that simulates and resembles the hospital environment equipped with various equipment and devices that contribute to preparing and training students in various nursing skills.
Message:
This lab is one of the important basic labs for nursing students as it helps the student to master the subject of anatomy and physiology from a scientific practical perspective, helping him to identify the different organs of the body that are organized within systems, in addition to conducting some necessary tests related to the work of the nurse in hospitals.
Vision:
Helping the student to learn about practical anatomy and physiology and benefit from it in nursing work.
Introducing students to the most important recent developments in anatomy and physiology in terms of modern techniques in diagnosing and determining laboratory tests such as blood group testing, differential diagnosis of blood cells, and other laboratory tests.
Providing advanced laboratory study programs in the field of anatomy and physiology and graduating students capable of providing the community with scientific competencies and specialized cadres trained in modern scientific techniques and scientifically and practically qualified in this field.
Objectives:
1- Preparing scientifically and practically competent nurses qualified to perform job work in hospitals after graduation.
2- Linking the theoretical aspect with the practical aspect and activating their abilities to infer and discuss the results.
3- Identifying the different body systems and the structure of each system and the vital functions it performs in the human body using models, plastic dolls and means of explaining these systems, such as the skeletal system, the muscular system, the cardiovascular system, the digestive system, the respiratory system, the urinary system, the reproductive system and the sensory organs.
4- Learn how to conduct laboratory blood tests (complete blood count, blood type, hemoglobin measurement, and compressed cell volume measurement), conduct urine tests, and how to measure blood pressure, in addition to informing the student how to conduct an electrocardiogram using an E.C.G device, the reasons for its use, and its importance.
Message:
Establishing basic scientific rules for everything related to chemical reactions and their kinetics and the role of chemical compounds in metabolic processes within the human body and creating a link between theoretical aspects and practical application, leading to the preparation of scientifically qualified and skilled nurses to provide specialized nursing care and health awareness to the community.
Vision:
1- Conveying the student’s knowledge of the possibility of scientific explanation for some cases and health disorders in patients that may occur during their professional career.
2- Enhancing the student’s confidence in the effective role of the nurse and the possibility of advancing the nursing reality and ideal care to the highest level.
3- Motivating the student to learn about the latest laboratory and therapeutic techniques regarding biochemical reactions and benefiting from advanced global scientific practices and discoveries to build a future vision for the student to advance the health reality to the highest levels of service.
4- Creating the spirit of an integrated medical team among the student with his colleagues from various medical cadres, which in turn supports the exchange of medical expertise and information.
Laboratory objectives:
1- Conducting special analyses to determine the effectiveness of the body’s organs in performing their various functions and the chemicals present in body fluids, especially blood. All of these substances are in fixed proportions, and any difference in these proportions has a pathological significance.
2- Enriching the student with all information related to the importance and how to conduct clinical analyses and identifying the laboratory equipment necessary to conduct them and giving an initial idea of the occurrence of a disorder or malfunction in the functional performance of the body’s organs, which helps in accurate diagnosis by the specialist doctor.
