On the occasion of Drug Week, Professor Dr. Sabah Muhammad Al-Mutawaki, Dean of Al-Samawah Technical Institute and the Technical College of Engineering for Oil and Energy in Al-Muthanna, received a delegation from the Directorate of Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances in Al-Muthanna Governorate. Al-Mutawaki welcomed the visiting delegation and expressed his readiness for serious and fruitful cooperation to hold seminars, workshops and educational lectures on combating drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Media and Government Communication Divisions and the Legal Division at the Technical College of Engineering for Oil and Energy in Al-Muthanna and Al-Samawah Technical Institute at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, in coordination with the Directorate of Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, Al-Muthanna Branch, organized a workshop entitled (Dangers of drugs on society and how to prevent them) in the conference hall.
The workshop was presented by Brigadier General \/ Muhammad Hassan Abdul-Ridha, Assistant Director of the Drug Control Directorate and Sheikh \/ Amer Eidan Muhammad, and was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College, Dr. Sadiq Hassan Al-Kaabi, and heads of scientific departments and students at the institute and college.
The symposium aims to address the phenomenon of drug use and identify the most important causes of the phenomenon of drug use and abuse, as well as the importance of the role of youth in addressing it. The symposium targeted the youth category as they are the most vulnerable to this danger. It also showed the harms of drugs and their seriousness to humans and what are the negative effects resulting from them and the importance of awareness and continuous education by the family and governmental and civil institutions to reduce the spread of the phenomenon of drugs among young people.
It also included several axes that included addressing the legal and religious aspects of those who use drugs and defining drugs, their types and their effects on society and how the family recognizes the addict and the damages he is exposed to in terms of the nervous and psychological system and its impact on society and taking precautions and staying away from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
