The Department of Oil and Gas Refining Techniques of the Samawah Technical Institute of the Middle Euphrates Technical University, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, held a scientific workshop entitled “Environmental pollution”, which was attended by members and students of the department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop addressed the definition of highlighting air pollution, its causes, and sources such as industrial emissions, car exhaust and waste burning, the negative effects of pollution on the environment and human health, including respiratory diseases and climate change.
The workshop provides examples of global and local challenges related to air pollution, as well as a review of efforts to reduce it, such as environmental legislation and the use of clean energy. As well, sustainable solutions and innovative technologies are being rolled out to improve air quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop aims to raise participants’ awareness about the seriousness of air pollution and its effects on the planet and seeks to motivate individuals and institutions to adopt environmentally friendly practices to reduce polluting emissions, and to strengthen the role of society in supporting environmental initiatives, such as afforestation and reducing plastic use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
