Introduction to the department:
The Department of Information and Communication Technology was established by the National Authority for Accreditation and Quality in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research at the beginning of the academic year (2019/2020), at the Middle Euphrates University as one of the departments of the Samawah Technical Institute, and this department comes in line with the needs of the local and Arab community, and aims to introduce the student to the basic principles of information and communication technology and the new developments in this field, especially after the expansion of the phenomenon of globalization and the spread and expansion of information networks around the world, and the department contributes to the advancement of society by providing graduates with a diploma degree in this field capable of joining the labor market.
Vision:
The Department of Information Technology seeks to provide the components of continuous development of education in the field of information technology to keep pace with the rapid scientific and technological developments and quality of university performance, and to raise the graduates of the department to the level of excellence and high competitiveness, and to accomplish outstanding scientific research and studies and maximize the role of the department in serving the environment and community development.
Mission:
To prepare a group of graduates and researchers of outstanding quality in the field of ICT and facilitate the use of technology and information resources. This is done through a cadre capable of creating and disseminating knowledge through collaborative communities, in addition to promoting partnerships that facilitate cooperation between education, industry, and government on the one hand, and meet the needs of the labor market on the other hand, and elevating the student to the level of ambition that serves the Iraqi society and its requirements so that Iraq has a prominent place among the countries of the world.
Objective:
The Department of Information and Communication Technology is one of the departments of Al-Samawah Technical Institute, and works to prepare graduates specialized in information and communication technology, capable of keeping pace with technological progress related to the reality of the local community and the Arab society in general.
This department aims to:
Provide the local and Arab market with graduates who are able to use ICT in building and developing various communication systems.
Establishing the theoretical and scientific concepts of information technology sciences based on basic sciences and their importance in methodological approaches
Providing qualified human cadres to build computer networks and connect them to the Internet
Providing students with the skills and information needed to work efficiently and effectively in the fields of communication.
Work to refine the student’s personality and discover his inclinations and talents through scientific, cultural and sports activities.
Introduce students to professional ethics, which in turn helps the graduate to face public challenges and real-life professional life.
Provide the student with the ability to evaluate alternative solutions to the issue under study and decide on the possibility of using information technology to implement the solution
Providing the student with skills and information in the various fields of ICT applications, developing sound attitudes towards productive work and positive interaction with society, and preparing him to practice work in the following fields:
Wireless communication and its tremendous developments.
Security and protection applications related to ICT.
Dealing with the latest methods of managing Internet networks and intelligent control.
Teaching all computer programming languages and how to write code.
Apply the principles and techniques of artificial intelligence to solve issues and make decisions.

1. Able to manage and operate information storage and processing programs and connect local information networks.

3. Able to access vast amounts of information by connecting computers to large-scale information networks.
4. Able to collect, process and broadcast information inside and outside the country and anywhere in the world that can be reached by various advanced means of communication.

Brief Description: The Electrical Circuits Laboratory is one of the main laboratories in the Department of Information and Communication Technology because it contains major equipment and provides basic lessons in the field of information technology.
