About the Unit

The Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit is an administrative body responsible for engaging with final-year students and graduates. It provides qualification through specialized programs and workshops. It aims to bridge the gap between students and the labor market (both public and private sectors locally and internationally) and to market graduate outcomes, thereby contributing to an advanced society built on young technical expertise.

Unit Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build a comprehensive graduate database and monitor their career paths.
  • Organize training courses and workshops to enhance soft and technical skills.
  • Liaise with public and private institutions to provide job opportunities for graduates.
  • Conduct analytical studies on unemployment rates and in-demand specializations.
  • Offer professional career counseling and guidance to students.

General Objective

Assist final-year students and graduates of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University / Samawah Technical Institute across all specializations to develop their personal, academic, and practical abilities in line with labor market needs, expand their competitiveness for jobs in the government and private sectors locally and internationally, and promote the culture of the private sector to reduce pressure on the public sector.

Unit Strategy

Prepare specialized studies to identify strengths and weaknesses among graduates and their educational progression, assess labor market opportunities, and monitor current and future threats. The unit also contributes to building accurate databases of graduates and employment rates while understanding operational mechanisms of institutions to drive success and progress.
