The Accounting Department at the Technical Institute in Samawah is an applied academic department aimed at preparing specialized cadres in accounting, auditing, and financial management, with a focus on practical aspects and the use of modern accounting systems to qualify students for work in government institutions and private companies.
The department keeps pace with digital age developments by integrating artificial intelligence technologies and advanced accounting software, contributing to the labor market with graduates capable of analyzing financial data and making decisions that support institutions.

Our vision stems from our awareness of society’s needs and the labor market, which requires this specialization that serves all state sectors – both public and private. We strive for the Accounting Department to become a leading center for preparing distinguished accounting cadres capable of dealing with international standards and modern technologies.
A key element of the Accounting Department’s mission is to fulfill one of the institute’s main goals: qualifying students academically and practically in full harmony with labor market requirements directly. It also aims to provide a distinguished educational environment, develop scientific capabilities and research skills of teaching staff through scientific research, and serve society by providing financial and accounting cadres to various state departments. Evening studies were introduced in the department in the academic year (2017-2018) to meet the needs of employees and graduates wishing to specialize.
- Graduate scientifically qualified cadres practically in accounting sciences according to the latest standards.
- Organize specialized accounting courses for all state departments to upgrade human resources efficiency.
- Supply government departments and private institutions with specialized cadres in accounting and auditing.
- Enhance scientific research in financial and managerial accounting and contribute to sustainable development.
- Maintain accounting records, organize financial documents, and prepare trial balances.
- Perform internal auditing and financial review tasks.
- Participate in continuous or annual inventory and inventory committees as a financial member.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and prepare periodic financial statements.
- Carry out cashier duties and related procedures, manage treasuries.
- Calculate salaries, advances, organize payrolls and compensation lists.
- Work in cost accounting departments and cost analysis.
- Use modern technologies and ready-made software in accounting (ERP, accounting programs).

Practical Content: Recording daily entries, preparing budgets and financial statements, financial data analysis using accounting software (QuickBooks, advanced Excel).
